Leeds Running Festival 2026

Taking part in the Leeds Running Festival 2026 was a special milestone for me — it was my first ever 10K race.

My goal was simple: to finish my first 10K in under 60 minutes. I set 60 minutes as my personal limit — a target that would challenge me to keep running and not give up when it became difficult.

I crossed the finish line in 58 minutes and 38 seconds, with a recorded distance of 10.25 km and an average pace of 5:42 per kilometre.

But the experience was about much more than the time. What made the event special was the atmosphere — surrounded by athletes, supporters and genuinely kind people. There was a wonderful sense of encouragement, respect and consideration between people, creating an atmosphere that made everyone feel part of something positive.

The event was a great success for me, and I came away with great memories, a first 10K medal and even more motivation for the next challenge.

For me, running is about consistency, discipline and continuing to move forward, one step and one kilometre at a time.

You don’t have to be the fastest. You just have to keep moving forward.

This is only the beginning of my running journey, and I am already looking forward to the next race with renewed motivation.
